Our breathing patterns correlate to our well-being

"Have you observed that when mind is under stress, our breath is shallow and haphazard"

Are you aware of your breathing pattern?

A simple 3-step test can confirm it:
  1. Sit or stand comfortably and observe your natural breath for a few seconds.
  2. Then place your right hand on your abdomen and sense the movement of your abdomen using the hand placed on it.
  3. If your abdomen is not expanding on inhalation and contracting on exhalation then perhaps your breathing is not natural or it is shallow.
Our breathing pattern has a direct correlation to our mental stress levels, when mind is under stress our breath is shallow and haphazard. A slower, deeper and rhythmic breath reflects a calmer mind. If you are breathing right then that’s great, it’s time to move on to the next level of breathwork practices.
